Listnik is a shared grocery list, meals catalog and meal plan for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by Ilya Voloshin. You can delete your Listnik account, and the data that goes with it, whenever you like: in the app, or by email if you can't open it.
First, cancel Listnik Plus
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription: the App Store or Google Play keeps renewing it until you cancel it there.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Listnik Plus → Cancel Subscription, or your App Store subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Listnik Plus → Cancel subscription, or your Google Play subscriptions.
In the app
iPhone and iPad
- Open Listnik and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account… at the bottom (it's also under your name at the top of Settings).
- Tap Delete Account and confirm with Continue with Apple.
Android
- Open Listnik and go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Continue with Google.
The account is deleted as soon as you confirm, and the app signs out.
By email
If you can't open the app, write to listnik@ilyav.net with the subject "Delete my account". Listnik doesn't know your email address, so tell me the name you go by in the app and the names of the others in your household, if any; I may ask a question to make sure the account is yours. I'll delete it and reply when it's done, within 30 days at the latest.
What's deleted
- Right away: your account, your name, your sign-in sessions and API tokens, your devices' notification tokens, invite codes you made that nobody used, your entries in the change log (the record of changes and syncs kept to fix sync problems), and the link to your Apple ID or Google Account. Listnik keeps nothing else from Apple or Google. To also take Listnik off your Google Account, remove it in Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services.
- If you were the last member of your household: the household goes too, right away: its list and items, item history, meals and recipes, meal plan, stores, categories, collections and invites. Its photos are deleted within a week, unless another household saved the same picture.
- If others are still in your household: they keep it, with everything in it, including what you added. Item history shows you as a former member.
What's kept
- Backups: the nightly backups of the server roll off within 14 days.
- Purchase records: records of Listnik Plus subscriptions (the App Store or Google Play ids, the product and its dates) stay, without your account.
- Usage counts: the record of requests the server made to Gemini and Brave (when, for which feature, and how it went; never what was sent) stays for up to 400 days to keep track of costs, without your account or household.
- Server logs: the web server's request logs are kept for a short time to run and secure the service.
Deleting only some data
Everything in a household can be deleted in the app: items, meals, plan entries, stores, photos. Settings → Household → Leave Household starts you over with an empty list; if nobody's left in the household you leave, it's deleted the same way. The privacy policy describes everything Listnik keeps and for how long.
